The membership of Eurokin currently comprises 11 industrial companies in alphabetical order: Ketjen, BP International, Evonik Industries, Institute Français du Petrôle Energies nouvelles (IFPEN), Johnson Matthey Catalysts, Lhoist, Linde A.G., Orlen, SABIC, SCG Chemicals, and Shell International Chemicals B.V.; and 7 academic institutions: Delft University of Technology, Ghent University, the Catholic University of Louvain, IRCELyon, Politecnico di Milano, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Trondheim), and the Technical University of Munich. BP Chemicals joined the Eurokin consortium in 2004, Albemarle Catalysts in 2006 (from 2024 Ketjen), Evonik Industries in 2009, Lhoist in 2013, SABIC in 2014, SCG Chemicals in 2019, and Orlen in 2024.
Funding is provided by the industrial members (currently euro 15,000 per year), while the academic members provide support and guidance in the development and execution of the programme.
Initially, the programmes had a two-year horizon. After successful completion of Eurokin 1 and Eurokin 2 (1999/2002), the successors Eurokin-3 and Eurokin-4 are based on a rolling programme without fixed termination date to be updated each year. The programmes have already resulted in the above-mentioned deliverables. The programme for the coming two years will seek to build on those deliverables, including the development of tools to facilitate the application of these, and to extend the scope of work to cover new areas. A summary of the envisaged work is given below.
Companies having commercial activities in the field of chemical reaction kinetics and catalysis in the chemical, petrochemical, refinery and catalysis manufacturing sectors and related applications in those sectors may join the Eurokin consortium provided a number of additional requirements are fulfilled. Academic members will generally require the support of two of the industrial members before consideration.
New industrial members can apply at any time. Details on terms and conditions for new members can be obtained from:
