Review of techniques for the characterization of porosity in porous materials, including gas physisorption, mercury porosimetry, imaging techniques, scattering techniques, ‘exotic’ techniques and synergistic combinations of techniques.
The review also includes models and computer codes for obtaining pore network models from the experimental data, including PoreCor and CSPM.
The second part concerns quantification and accessibility of active sites. More and more in situ spectroscopic techniques are used for this and in specific cases even single site turn-overs can be measured.
