Review concerning reacting particles in fluidized beds. Overview of the major modeling approaches in the open literature that are relevant to model reacting particles in fluidized beds. Models describing single particles are distinguished into constant size models, decreasing size models and increasing size models. Depending on the fluid dynamic regime, different reactor models are used for simulation of fluidized beds. Agglomeration, attrition, elutriation and segregation are shortly reviewed. Finally, a preliminary starting strategy for model selection is presented.
