This report aims at categorizing the main types of reactions involving a solid, describing the specific aspects of solid phase reactions and identifying the leading groups working in the different fields of research. For each type of reaction (solid phase transitions, reactions with an appearing and disappearing solid phase and solid-solid reactions), the main characteristics and important literature are discussed and leading groups suggested. Section 3 deals with nucleation, growth and impingement or coarsening and more. Section 4, finally, deals with solid state transport phenomena and their relation with solid phase reaction kinetics.
