This investigation review methods to quantify the uncertainty in kinetic models and the influence on the model outputs through uncertainty and sensitivity analysis.

To estimate influence of uncertain inputs, two strategies can be used: (i) Test small modifications of the inputs around a reference point and study their impact on the outputs, and (ii) Use global sensitivity analysis (GSA). The report focuses on the sensitivity analysis and the kriging metamodel. Simple theoretical examples and two practical examples are used to illustrate and emphasize the usefulness of the discussed techniques.
