This report reviews the current potential of 3D printing techniques for catalytic applications. Advantages with additive manufacturing production technologies in chemical and process engineering are associated with the possibility of realizing objects. Thanks to Computer Aided Design, these structures offer superior performances with respect to objects manufactured with conventional design approaches. Additionally, catalytic activation techniques adopted for 3D printed supports are reviewed. The last section of the report will provide an overview of applications of 3D printed materials in catalysis extracted from the scientific literature.
