This report focuses on the achievement of a simple and general model correlating the initial particle size distribution (PSD) with the pore size distribution (PoSD) of the aggregated particles. Simulations were performed to generate aggregates using a multi-scale Cox Boolean model to stack the particles, for different initial particle sizes and initial particle size distribution. The effects of primary nanoparticle shape, size, and volume fraction of solids on the pore size distribution was investigated. No general empirical correlations (translating PSD into PoSD) could be obtained, however, some general trends were perceived. Smaller primary nanoparticles generate aggregates with smaller pore size distribution, and particle anisotropy is related to aggregates with narrower pore size distribution. Advices for further work are given.
