The lack of information on the composition of pyrolysis oils makes it difficult to evaluate the feasibility of thermochemical recycling of plastic waste and rubber waste tires in the future chemical and energy industry. An extensive database on the quality of both plastic and rubber waste tire pyrolysis oils was built from open literature from different research groups and companies. The average hydrocarbon composition of both pyrolysis oils is given and discussed, as well as the detrimental effects that heteroatoms, halogens and metals may pose on the steam cracking process together with possible mitigation techniques. This report should be used together with the Excel database that was already presented at the October 2023 workshop.
