This report contains a comprehensive literature survey of kinetic studies for systems with a high degree of conversion and an evaluation of the approaches used. The study was limited to heterogenous catalysis. The study highlights: (i) Specific problems in determining kinetics at high conversion and possible pitfalls, (ii) The different experimental strategies used,
(iii) The fitting/modeling approaches used to develop kinetic expressions, and (iv) Corrections applied to correct for non-ideal flow patterns at the laboratory scale.
